The Little Mermaid? Yeah Right!
Now I for one, have never been a fan of water. I am not a fantastic swimmer, though I don’t mind that so much. I don’t drink enough of it, though I get hounded all the time to do so. And it takes a crowbar to get me into the shower every morning. Yes I still take one every morning, but that doesn’t mean I’m happy about it.
I know some people have said that you are supposed to get eight cups of water a day. Though I have heard differing views on how much, and if water really is all that great for you. As long you are getting enough liquid, I don’t see a reason for all of it to be water. Now having water count for 60% of my overall weight, doesn’t mean I don’t like myself. Though I will admit, that during that time of the month, retaining water is not fun. It also explains that couple extra pounds I always manage to put on, no matter what I do, and then lose as soon as the week is over. The water in us, also makes celebrity diets work. For example the 24 hour weight loss ones. Really, the are just getting rid of some excess water weight, and within a few days after, you end up gaining it right back.
The reason I am not such a fantastic swimmer is that I hate to put my face under the water. I have no problems floating along, doing a backstroke and the like. But the second I have to put my face under the water, it’s all over. I guess that’s why I don’t like the shower so much. I really have to try hard not to get water on my face. I always do get out of the shower and wash my face once I am fully dressed though.
So for all the liquid I do drink, and I will admit that most days it’s not up to par like it should be, hardly any of it is water. I guess that’s why I truly don’t like tea all that much. It just tastes like warm water. Blech. I’ve never liked the way it sits in my stomach after I have had some. It sloshes around and makes me feel a little nauseous. Milk on the other hand, is a little thicker than water and one of my favorite liquids. I am a pretty big fan of sugar though, so juice is pretty high up on my list.
Even though I’m not a huge fan of water, I still do try to choke it down. I don’t want to be one of those newspaper headlines. Girl dies of dehydration next to running faucet, or the like. So hand me a bottle of water, and maybe a Chrystal Light or Koolaid packet too?
